Hello, I made a similar project recently, a gimball for two heavy cameras and precise positioning: https://www.freelancer.com/projects/threed-modelling/axis-camera-positioner/ Your project seems to be more simple, no need for a backlash-free gear, just a direct drive from motors providing some natural stabilization. I consider it as a mainly mechanical project: I (we) choose motors to be used, then you control them as you like - correct? If some electronics for motor control needed I probably can do it on ARDUINIO base but that would take time and is a separate consideration probably. The editable 3D model would be in SolidWorks 2011, easily converted to all software independent formats. I would discuss details more closely, contact me by messaging if interested.
