I am needing expert assistance in moving a forum from VBulletin 3.8 to Discourse. The scope of the job would be: - Install Discourse on our server - Migrate VBulltin forum : [login to view URL] with all data to discourse. - Setup proper SEO and url redirects. - Assist with advice on best practices (a few hours of tutorial on the architecture, development practices and customization) - If there is a possibility, I would also like to migrate the whole of socialengine v3 to discourse. Please provide a time effort estimate after reading the scope properly. Generic quotes will be ignored.

Hi there, I am interested in your project, I have a vBulletin forum myself and I know what it takes to migrate one to another forum software. I have migrated vBulletin to XenForo and Discourse before. To migrate your forum content To Discourse we will need to upgrade your vBulletin 3 to the latest vBulletin 3 version and if there is any problem, we will need to upgrade it to vBulletin 4 first. I will do all of this and if you don't have access to a vBulletin 4 version, I will work with the one you have until it is transferred without problems. I will redirect all your posts/threads to the new url formats of Discourse, that way you won't loose traffic. Also I will configure any setting needed for SEO, but we can leave this for later when everything is working. My proposal only includes migrating your data to Discourse, it doesn't include a assistance with best practices and development. I am not the correct person to teach you all that. You should consider opening a new project so that you can find someone specialized in development with Discourse. Please let me know if you are interested. Kind regards, Elmer Sorto.

Hello Sir, I'm a system administer, I have done many type of jobs and am owner of a forum myself so I do know how forum works.. But Discourse is quit new and its system needs VBulletin 4 or higher version. So what can I do for you is starting to upgrade your forum first of all from version 3 to version 4 then after that trying to convert your forum into Discourse it will take time and actually needs space and RAM than suspected. Also for starting I may need a web server, one of them which is yours right now to dump the DB and another one for installing and importing Data on. We can discuss about seo and other things later on after converting the DB. Thank you Sir Regards Bryar
