Remote Desktop Issue

I am trying to set up Remote Desktop (Windows 2008 Server Enterprise) but the "Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer is grayed out so I cannot mark the check box. I think this is stopping me from setting up Remote Desktop from outside of my network. Remote Desktop works fine within my network but not from outside like home.
