Here is the description I gave him to complete the project All project files are attached. ----------- .net REST service with XML or JSON transfer to build Front End The architecture of the application: Input data: Client provides configuration or the existing servers individually using XML format. The client can also provide multiple servers into on request or could break them down into an individual cluster of servers. The key important input data that are required for evaluating against hosting providers are the processor type, cache, speed, number of cores, size of memory, storage capacity and operating system used. Additional information to name the server, which can distinguish other servers with it could be provided, otherwise, the system can provide a name with an id number. Process Inputs: There are two required data inputs to support the processing of the algorithm. These inputs are benchmark ranking information and the vendor server configurations for each product level. The input data for benchmarking is loaded into our system from the following website: https://www.cpubenchmark.net. Hosting providers inputs are manually entered into our system by getting information from their websites. Few of the top hosting providers are GoDaddy, HostGator, 1&1, and Hostwinds. Since each of these providers has different product levels and they don't provide any feeds about their complete product information, it has to be manually fed to the system 68 and stored in the database. Processes: The process involves two important sub-processes. When trying to take the best out of multiple inputs, it is always easier to compare using ranking. So, the first process that is needed to be done is to rank the vendor systems based on the CPU, its power, amount of memory, storage capacity and the most importantly the accessibility of the product. Some vendors provide unlimited access versus others who provide access based on per GB of outbound traffic. The ranking is calculated for each hosting provider plans. The categories that are ranked are the CPU, video card, hard drive, and RAM. Each of these is ranked in percentage based on the benchmarks. Once each of the categories is ranked, a weighted average is taken between the four of the categories. CPU taking the most to 50%, RAM at 25%, hard drive at 15% and any other remaining ranks will be included in the last 10%. This would be the process that is used for both Vendor systems and the Client systems. Initially, the vendor systems' ranking is processed and stored in a database table. Once the Client input's data, their system information is also ranked using the same process. Once the ranking is complete, the second process, the comparison algorithm determines the matching of the systems that are suitable for the client. The compared information is again stored in a table before producing an output. Outputs: The output for the process contains information about the matching server information that provides a similar solution to the existing client-server configuration. The output is returned in the form of XML to match the format of the input with additional information including the vendor information and the plan that would match. Since the output is in XML format, it could be used to generate user interfaces that could be understandable to the end user. Also, it could be used between multiple systems since XML is the current communication method between multiple systems.
