I'm looking for is someone who understands video editing workflows and can help me to consolidate my iMovie libraries, organize my projects, and manage my workflow efficiently. Also, not required, but perhaps recommend a backup and compression solution if you have expertise here as well. This job can likely be accomplished in 2-3 hours of hands on explaining and showing me what to do. We can use my Zoom webinar link to allow me to share my desktop and have you coach me through what to do as I do it. I also have Screenflow and plan to use it as well. Organization and Workflow Issue: A little background info: I'm a life coach who uses Zoom web conference software to serve clients with private breakthrough coaching and an online course. I record these sessions, edit them with iMovie, and am using them to create my first digital product. I also use my 2 video cameras and my basic home studio to record videos, edit them, and then I post them to YouTube, Vimeo or to my Kajabi digital course platform. My issue is that I now have multiple iMovie libraries and a confusing array of events and projects, with an unclear project workflow. I'm uploading a screenshot of my multiple libraries so you can see what a mess it is. I need to consolidate my iMovie library into one library plus one backup library and understand how to use events (either by date or by specific subject-focused areas or both) and be clear in how I organize incoming videos so I can easily find, access and work with my footage for new projects. I need a usable workflow solution. Optional Storage Issue Consulting: I've installed a "6TB Lacie 2Big" Raid 1 system with mirroring (so 3TB available) to house my iMovie Libraries and my videos, which provides some protection in case of a hard drive fail. I don't yet have an offsite backup solution in place. I use iCloud to house my Keynote presentations, my most of docs, and my images. I believe that this provides a backup...one on my computer and one in the cloud...but I'm not entirely clear. I currently use my My Macbook pro (mid 2015) 1TB laptop internal storage as the temporary place to record and house my docs and videos before moving them to my Raid setup or to iCloud. My Macbook Pro is backed up with an Airport Time Capsule, which protects from hard drive failure, but both are local, so it doesn't protect from fire or other local issues. I need some advice on a sustainable, affordable, long-term back up and storage system that will grow with me over time, as I record 3-15 GB of video per week. Optional Apple Compressor Consulting I also need some training to better understand video compression that will help with my storage solution needs. I've purchased Mac Compressor but just need some advising on how to best use it so that my videos play well on Vimeo, on Kajabi (powered by Wistia), on YouTube, and of course on mobile as well as desktop, while limiting file size. I just learned that rendering at a higher resolution than needed for the web can actually make my videos play back more grainy and with less resolution...I need understand this better and create a process for how to render and compress my videos for different uses.
