Muslim Charity requires the services of a competent web designer (individual or firm) to develop a new trendy and user-friendly website for Muslim Charity with a strong visual appeal. The website needs to embody Muslim Charity’s wide and forward looking mandate as well as have a robust Content Management System (CMS) that can effectively manage large amounts of data and an array of file types including embedded video, audio, photo albums, HTML, PDF, and similar. The website also needs a donation system linked to our donor database ,a robust constituent relationship management (CRM) system for active constituent engagement and personalized content, and the ability to manage constituent engagement directly through the website – i.e. online petitions and advocacy, tell-a-friend campaigns, and personal fundraising campaigns. 1. Background Muslim Charity is a humanitarian and development organization that is changing the way people think about and deliver aid around the World. We believe that development must come from within, not outside these communities. That it is locals themselves who must determine their future, and that while international aid has provided much-needed support, it often falls short of enabling lasting change at grassroots level. We want to change this, and our strong bonds with these communities mean we are uniquely placed to do so. For over 16 years, we have worked hand-in-hand with communities to prevent, manage, and overcome situations that adversely affect their wellbeing, and our belief that the protection of the natural environment is integral to a thriving community cuts across everything we do. Regardless of where we work, our approach is the same: we help vulnerable communities through partnerships and shared decision-making. Our work can be categorized in four ways: Developing skills for life and work; Providing humanitarian aid; Reinvigorating the economy; and Influencing policy. We are a recognized charity in the UK,working across the globe. Given the changing trends in web design since, we feel that our current website no longer meets our needs, and the needs of our audiences. We are therefore seeking the services of an individual or firm to design and execute a new website for Muslim Charity. 2. Scope of the Assignment Under the guidance of the Muslim Charity’s Communications and Advocacy Manager, the service provider will be expected to undertake the following tasks: • Develop layout and structure for the web site • Develop a Content Management System (CMS) based on Word Press; • Integrate an effective search function; • Investigate and propose options to set up a constituent relationship management (CRM) system including; • Integrate an donation platform allowing individuals to donate online directly on the website and transfer funds to Muslim Charity’s existing merchant accounts, with information deposited in Muslim Charity’s donor database • Develop a ‘member zone’ for registered users in Muslim Charity’s CRM (to be confirmed); • Develop a user-guide for the website and the CMS, complete with the most common troubleshooting guidelines; • Train a minimum of two of Muslim Charity staff on how to manage the new website CMS and CRM; • Following an internal appraisal process, install the website on the server, and transfer all archived content from Muslim Charity’s current website, based on WordPress (images, text, embedded video, PDFs, HTML, photo albums, etc.); The website should have the following features: Site design: o An attractive graphic layout that embodies Muslim Charity’s corporate character and meets Muslim Charity’s branding specifications; o Interactive and user-friendly o Be mobile friendly; o A design that allows regular improvements on look and features. Minimum Qualification and Capabilities Required o Adequate knowledge and at least 5 years of progressive experience with web design proved through portfolio of designed products; o Experience with CMS – open-source, proprietary and custom solutions; o Experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems who can share relevant examples of establishing CRMs for multi-national nonprofit organizations o Experience developing websites for other non-profit organizations; 6.
