The project target is to design an off-grid hybrid PV system to supply different AC and DC loads. - The model is composed of a PV system with MPPT, the perturb and observe, that is managed by using a boost converter. - The second item is the DC loads, two DC loads are connected to the MPPT outlet, the first one is directly connected and the second is connected through a buck DC/DC converter. - The third item is the battery storage system and its control. - The fourth item is the DC/AC inverter and its control algorithm in dq frame that controls the DC link capacitor voltage and power conversion to the AC loads.

I worked on this project on SIMULINK to model a bidirectional voltage source converters for DC power transmission between two AC systems of different frequencies. The model is developed such that both AC system can supply the loads where if one of them is removed from the system, by means of opening the circuit breaker, the other AC system can supply both loads at their voltage and frequency requirements. The second figure shows the loads voltage and current waveforms before and after the transition between the circuit breakers. From time t=0 to time t=5 seconds the first breaker is on and the second is off, after t=5seconds the breakers operation is switched.

Simulink model of three phase PV inverter. Maximum power point tracking and DC to AC power conversion is applied within one single stage. In this project I tried different algorithms for maximum power point tracking as the perturb and observe, constant voltage and the incremental conductance method. The perturb and observe was the most efficient method for maximum power tracking.
