Yes, I've been to college and majored in English like everyone else, taught English, corrected papers, wrote for every medium, entered content on many websites etc. (like everyone else), but to me this GAF program is far more than education, qualifications and bragging abilities. For instance, I believe that life experiences and just being around for a lot of years are just as important as education. In fact, these things might even be more important. The fact that one can write of more experiences on a wider range of subjects certainly has its value. Just out of college, a baseball player usually gets sent to the minor leagues for "seasoning." The same is true for writers. Most never become successful until they've "paid their dues," so to speak. As a retired male senior citizen, I certainly feel I have paid my dues with my diverse writing experiences, rejection slips notwithstanding. But I also add another dimension to my "seasoning." Because I don't punch a clock every day, I am totally at the disposal of those who would put me in their employ. I am quick to answer Emails and dedicated to meeting deadlines. As a result, I am very serious about learning all I can about a project before bidding on it and may ask the contractor a plethora of questions before committing myself. Because my passion is the English language and the correct usage of it, I will not bid on something that would deny me that opportunity. I will not bid on something that has the potential of being beyond my ken. I do not bid on projects just for the money. Once I am committed I will stay on the project until both sides mutually and amicably agree to end the project. With that in mind, I will be happy to entertain your offer.
