(Please put the word "carrot" in your bid to prove that you read the description. I have a system running CentOS 5.11 and perl 5.8.8. With most websites, I am able to use LWP::UserAgent to request pages over SSL successfully: perl -e 'use LWP::UserAgent; my $ua = new LWP::UserAgent; $res = $ua->get("[login to view URL]"); print substr($res->content, 0, 100) . "\n";' <!doctype html><html itemscope="" itemtype="[login to view URL]" lang="en"><head><meta content However, with some sites I get an SSL error, e.g.: perl -e 'use LWP::UserAgent; my $ua = new LWP::UserAgent; $res = $ua->get("[login to view URL]"); print substr($res->content, 0, 100) . "\n";' 500 SSL negotiation failed: I would like to know what I have to change or what lines I have to add in order to fix this. (You can submit a solution as a text file of code; it doesn't have to fit on a single line like I did above, that was just so that the demonstration would fit on a single command line.)

First of all I know about carrot. You have pretty old Perl and I'm pretty sure that you need to update couple of modules to work with SSL nowadays. I can provide you solution if you give me list of sites you have problems.
