BUILD AN APP THAT CAN EXTRACT FRAMES FROM A VIDEO WITH HIGH QUALITY

Objective: To build a native iPhone app (using a single lens camera) with the ability to extract frames from a high definition video Requirements: Ability to take a 5 second video at 30 frames per second. Given an extraction time target of 1 second for the above video (this is the processing window SLA), extract the sharpest frame from each second of the video Demonstrates code efficiently accessing pixel data (using Metal shaders if most efficient) and applying one industry standard method for focus or sharpness evaluation, such as Laplacian or localized variance. Intent is not to engineer the best focus determination method, but show us how and where we can implement our own. Ability to import photos from a photo album Out of the images taken in quick succession, add the ability to automatically to select the 5 sharpest photos, ordered by sharpness metric, in under 1 second Ability to process images to find the image with maximum sharpness/focus metric and easily be able to apply better methods if necessary
