I am looking to automate a weekly email to members of our Sleep Disorder website. The email would be called 'Hot Topics in Sleep'. Sleep in the journals and Sleep in the News.... There are 2 main parts of the email: 1. Sleep in the News (scanned from Google News) 2. New Sleep Science Articles from the past week( from [login to view URL]) 1. The script would automatically scan Google News (sleep related articles from the past week)from the sources listed below..links below.... It would take take the top 20 articles and present the articles to me in an html email with the: Name of article (just like google) Source of article (just like google) The First 2 sentences from the article summary (or the first 2 sentences of the story if the summary is not available) (Google gives 1 sentence), and links to those articles. 2. It would also present the top 15 articles from [login to view URL] for the following keywords: apnea OR insomnia OR sleep OR narcolepsy OR rls and the following limits: - within the past 30 days (if possible, just the past 7 days) and - Core Clinical Journals and list them just like they are listed in Pubmed. with same link that goes to pubmed for further article information. First, These 2 lists would be emailed to me in HTML. This unique email to me would have a link to the script (user/pass protected) that allows me to de-select any of the articles - to remove them from the mass email. It also allows me to manually enter a few intro sentences of content that would go in the beginning of the email. If no entry that week, than leave blank. The email would be sent to me on every Monday. I will have from Monday until Wednesday to de-select any of the articles and add my custom intro sentences. If I do not make any changes, the email automatically will go out on every Wednesday at the same designated time. All emails will have the same header with the appropriate date. At the bottom of the email will be an option for members to be removed from this emailing. It would not remove them as members, just from the weekly mailings. The content of the email would also automatically be uploaded and posted to our website, which would list in chronological order the weekly emails. Example: " This weeks topics:....... (((Content of this weeks email 1. Sleep in the News 2. New Sleep Science Articles from the past week ))) Click here for Last weeks topics... January 15, 2008 January 8, 2008 January 1, 2008......" Our membership website has Mysql database with all members. Below are the google news links that are listed from different content sources from the past week (CNN, New York Times, Reuters, WebMD....)
