JQuery in Joomla Article with Sourcerer and MySQL

I want to add the JQuery autocomplete function to text field of a Joomla article created using the Sourcerer extension. The autocomplete function have to take the data (words) from a mysql DB, so that when I type in the text field one letter, I see the list of the terms starting with that letter, when I type the second letter I see the list of the terms starting with that 2 letters, etc. I will give the credentials to access to the backend of the Joomla article so that the programmer can do all the needed tests. The little autocomplete script must be integrated in the Sourcerer page. I have already created the script in local and it works; but it doesn't work when I put it into the Sourcerer code. There must be a problem in the communication between Joomla-Sourcerer and the JQuery script: so the programmer must have these skills.
