Assist me with setting up mailchimp email automation and disabling double-opt in

I need help with two things: 1. I cannot figure out how to disable the double opt-in part of mailchimp. I have installed a couple of plugins and cannot figure out how to do it. Can someone please tell me how to do it? 2. I cannot figure out the automation part of mail chimp. I want 6 emails to go out automatically. One immediately after they sign up, one a day later, one 3 days later, one a week later, one two weeks later and one a month later. Can someone tell me how to do this? I know exactly what I want to say and images that I want to use. I just cannot figure out how to automate it properly.
