Hi,
Sample:
What Types Of Corrosion Can Affect The Plumbing At Home?
Corrosion can cost you a bomb, when renovating the pipes at home. This is why, to understand the types of corrosion, we are here to explain the two types that affect homes the most.
Pitted Corrosion
In such forms of corrosion, the chlorine particles present around the pipe are to be blamed. Pitted corrosions rapidly degrade the pipes in small areas, opens pinhole leads in them and can only be noticed when a couple of drops occur through the length of the pipes. There aren’t any symptoms that warn you about the same and may look harmless. But overtime, pitted corrosion can take over and the pinhole leak would expand and rot out, creating humongous water damages. This is why pipes should be inspected on an annual basis to check for the same and to protect them too.
Formicary Corrosion
In such forms of corrosion, it would be the formaldehyde particles from the soil and the air around that cause the incidence. They eat up into the pipes in microscopic forms or holes, through the copper pipes and form patterns, such as an anthill. Such corrosion types aren’t visible to the naked eye and can ruin the copper pipe, if left untreated. There would be many leaks, as the corrosion advances in time and the lifespan of the pipes are shortened.
Get the pipes checked once in a year! Stay safe!

Sans.
