I’m looking for a skilled flash coder to create an interactive flash quiz game. The questions for the quiz are stored in a MySQL database, so the coder will need to have some experience of using scripts with flash (I think these are known as action scripts). The flash quiz will basically consist of 5 screens (explained in deliverables section) plus the necessary scripts that communicate with the database to make the quiz work. It should have a professional and colourful design, and include my logo that I will provide. All the questions are in the database ??" you do not need to create any questions for the quiz. You just need to make the flash access the database to retrieve these questions. Full details on how to get the questions from the database are included a word document, in the zip file attached to this bid request. The winning bidder needs to have MSN Messenger so that I can communicate easier with them. A good standard of English would be useful for communicating with the chosen coder. The winning coder needs good design, flash and scripting skills. The project should be fun to do because it’s a game (quiz) being created, so I’m looking for a coder who is genuinely interested in the project! If you think this is you, have a look at the deliverables and zip file, and place a bid! Thanks for looking! David Hammond ## Deliverables The quiz should popup in a new window. I need to pass 2 variables to the flash: “entryID?? and “accesscode??. This will be done in the URL of the window e.g. [login to view URL] These 2 variables are very important because they identify which questions should be shown to the user from the database, and tell me which user has taken the quiz (see the attached word document for more details). As mentioned above, the quiz will basically consist of 5 screens plus the necessary scripts to make everything work. The 5 screens are: Loading Screen ??" this is what the user will see when the quiz is loading. The loading screen should display as soon as the flash quiz starts loading, so that the user knows the quiz is working. It should be animated so that the user knows something is happening. This screen can be fairly simple, perhaps with the message “Quiz Console Loading??? Welcome Screen ??" this screen welcomes the user to the quiz, and makes sure they’re ready to start. It needs to explain to the user how to play the quiz, although I can provide the text that I want displayed on the flash. At the bottom of the page should be a button to start the quiz. Also, a timer will countdown to the automatic start of the quiz (the quiz should start automatically after 30 seconds if the user doesn’t press start). The user should be warned of how long they have before the quiz automatically starts. Quiz Screen ??" This is the main part of the flash! Near the top of the quiz screen should be the question the user has to answer. Then, below this are 4 possible answers, only 1 of which is correct! The answers should be displayed in a random order so that they’re not always in the same order. At the top right of the screen should be a timer showing the user how long they’ve spent since the start of the quiz. This should be constantly increasing, and should be shown to 0.01 of a second (100ths of a second). For example 1:23:45 (1 minute, 23 seconds and 45 hundredths of a second). At the top left of the screen should be the question number and how many questions the user needs to answer. For example, if the user is answering the 4th question, and the quiz consists of 5 questions it should say “Question 4/5??. Calculating Score Screen ??" Whilst the quiz is connecting to the database to update the user’s score, a calculating score screen should be shown. This is like the loading screen at the start and should say “Calculating Your Score…?? and be animated so the user knows that something is happening. Results Screen ??" This page should congratulate the user for completing the quiz. It should also show the user their score, the total time they took and how many questions they got correct out of how many in total. There should be a link at the bottom to “submit their score?? which closes the quiz and takes them to a new URL. The quiz screen repeats for each question asked, but the user should not be able to navigate between the different screens in the quiz manually. There should be a background sound on the quiz screen ??" possibly like a clock ticking fast, or music with a fast beat. This music needs to be provided by you, and I should have the right to use this music (i.e. it cannot be copyrighted!). Full details on the scripts required for this job, and the interaction with the database are included in the attached word document ??" see the zip file attached to this bid request. This includes a step-by-step list of each variable to get from the database, and the error messages to display if it doesn’t work! The general design should be professional and colourful. The flash should be about 600x400 pixels. I will provide some images such as the website logo for the design, however you will need to do some of it yourself. The quiz should also be secure so that nobody can change his or her score (i.e. cheat) and nobody should be able to discover the database username / password! It should not be possible for the user to move between the screens unless they are meant to be able to. Please have a look at the further information and details in the zip file, and then if you think you’re the coder for this job, place a bid! Thank you once again, David Hammond Standard Deliverables Apply: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
