I need a java program that utilizes only the Java SDK and [JOGL][1] to load and display animated models stored in the .3DS format with the texture in .jpg [login to view URL] .3DS files contain the model and a series of movements that make up the animation. The program you write should display the model and cycle through each step of the animation every 200 milliseconds.
Descriptions of the .3DS file format can be found [here][2], [here][3], and [here][4].?
I plan on keeping the finished code open source, so feel free to utilize any existing open source, with no commercial restrictions, code out there.?
Again, you can only use the Java SDK 1.5 or greater and JOGL. All code to load the model must be written in Java using the Java SDK. All code to render and display the model must be written entirely in Java and utilize only the Java SDK and JOGL. No Java3D since it relies on it's own native code.?
Any open source code you use must only use the Java SDK and not have any native code. You cannot use any closed source third party libraries. ? No references to native code or code in other programming languages may be used.
I will provide example .3DS and .jpeg files for the models you can use to test your program with.
