Team Button not Working in Joomla Component

We have a website where users register for running events. On the registration page they can select a team, or create a new team. Currently the feature only works when the view is set to checkout by shopping cart. There are two other views: individual and group registration. For these the box is showing up, but the team is not saving properly. The team selection should save to the database. If a new team is created it should appear in the drop down menu of other teams created for that event. It looks like everything is working, only the new Team is not saving to the database properly. We need to get this working on both the individual and group registrations.
