yahoo quote downloader script customization

There is an old script here [login to view URL] that fetches intraday quotes from Yahoo. However, there are a few problems with it and I would like some customizations.
1. I believe that the url used is old for yahoo so that will need to be changed.
2. I need it to use proxies as to not time out or ban IPs
3. I need it to download 6 months of data for a list of symbols I have and add them to a MySQL database.
If you have something that already exists that would accomplish what I am after then please let me know.
