Yahoo! Messenger Interfacing

I'm not looking for a complete program, but what I would like is help with a project that I have worked on in the past and am at a dead-end with, moving forward. I have a program which people use to keep score in a Trivia Room in Yahoo Chat. Users click the buttons to send score into a chatroom from externally, so it's not a bot - but what happens is that the score gets formulated into Yahoo-friendly code and sent to a chat window. Unfortunately, since Yahoo launched Messenger 6, it doesn't work - What I need to do is make that part of the program work again! So, I'm looking for some help with code to implement that particular function. I don't need a program, just some code with instructions on where it needs to go. I am reasonably au fait with visual basic, and can follow through instructions needed to make something work, but am at a loss for this part!
