I understand that you have a word-count map-reduce program that counts the occurrence of each word from a bunch of text files. It currently outputs the words in a alphabetical order. You want the output to be ordered by count in descending order. I have programming experience of 7 years and I have been professionally trained on Hadoop, map-reduce and its related tools like Hive, Spark, Pig, Sqoop etc. I can write a map-reduce program in Java to output word-count in descending order. This can be achieved by writing a custom comparator class and setting it as sortCompartor in map-reduce job. Kindly let me know if I understood the requirement correctly. Please let me know the version of Hadoop that you are using, so that I would write code compatible with that version.
