Parsing a pdf/document via Python Script

I need a python scrip to parse all the information from resume which could be either in PDF or Word format. Language support needed for English, Hindi and Punjabi. Output is required in Excel format. The output file needs to keep on appending when run on different files. Also there needs to be only one script for all three languages. Interface needs to be such that: I run the script on a directory, it reads all the files in that directory and parses information and then output them in one single excel file.
