I work full time as a Principle Engineer / Data Scientist at a Hadoop based startup. I'm looking to gain more experience in other areas of Hadoop outside of the tools and environment that I use on a daily basis, so I have significant interest in working on your project. Spark and Storm would be of interest, for example. In addition to interfacing with Hadoop directly (writing Map/Reduce Jobs, interfacing to Hive, Pig, among other services), I also have experience NoSQL systems such as MongoDB. In fact I have provisioned MongoDB as a fully sharded and replicated cluster. In terms of web services, I can tell you that I do understand HTTP at a very granular level. At one point in my career worked in Deep Packet Inspection. I have interfaced with RESTful web services using many different tools / environments, as well as SOAP-based web services.
