I need to run 4 cable robot system on rapsberri pi 3/arduino due(fell free to suggest a better modern solution without delay like 8bit arduino does). So main board runs bipolar stepper motor drivers and reads pwm value from hobby radio reciever/ transmitter with cppm\pwm output( turnigy t9x) . All kinematics equations will be provided if needed(it`s opensource, similar to winch planter robots arduino projects). Feel free to port any existing Arduino project. Hardware available: raspberry pi2/3 arduino nano/pro/uno/mega /wireless rf-nano v3 arduino due cnc shield (arduino uno) ramps (arduino mega) stepper motor drivers nema 17 stepper motors turnigy 9x hobby transmitter with frsky tx\rx power supply, tools etc. 1st we need to read pwm/cppm signal from reciever ( i need only 4 channels to move system XY an Z vertical plane plus 1extra channel for saftey relay. So only two joysticks and and 1 switch will be used) 2nd we need to run stepper motors (for this reason i have cnc shield and ramps 1.4 that's how i want to avoid of using an extra prototyping boards and overall mess) 3rd controlling system from transmitter.

Hello. I've got idea what is needed, have some of hardware for testing. I have a transmitter, used it's cppm signal for a flight simulator, there should be no problem reading it. Can start that part immediately. I have Arduino Mega at hand, may be useful for controlling ramps. Besides, I"m a little bit surprised that delay is so important issue here, IMHO the same Arduino Mega can perform all tasks, anyway mechanics will be the most delay. Or so much calculations is needed to translate signals? I'm an electronic engineer with about 25 years of experience, also about 7 years of experience in 3D modelling using SolidWorks. Experience with Arduino and ESP32 controllers. Good technical background. Experience in 3D printing, manufacturing drawings.
