Virtual Assistant. WARNING! READ CAREFULLY AND READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BELOW. Failure to follow simple instructions will lead to us reporting you to Freelancer. We hate auto-bidders and anyone who uses copy/paste without reading the project description. We have a few dropbox folders with just under 1200 files that need to be renamed. Each file length is too long and we need to simply reduce the file name by cutting some of the characters. READ THIS CAREFULLY: Some basic but important rules. If you don't follow these rules we will report you and you account may be terminated. 1. Start your bid with "instructions read" . Failure to do so and we will know you are an auto bidder or [Removed by Admin] and you don't know how to follow simple instructions. 2. Blank bids to be deleted. 3. Don't ask us later how much we want to pay, your bid is not a placeholder. We will stop communicating with you if this happens. Provide a detailed proposal. 4. Explain why you are the best editor and why I should hire you. 4. Any bid over a budget of $10 USD will be deleted.

instructions read ...and understood. Hi I have an excel macro that can bulk rename files. I just have to tweak it with the character limitations you have. Once the parameters are set, it will take much less than an hour to run. So my bid and estimation is for an hour. However it might end up being 2, it depends on how many folders you have and how many different variations of character length restrictions you have.

instructions read In almost three years of work experience in an engineering design company, documentation is one of the important tasks to do. We are loaded with lots of documents. Thus, it is important to organize them properly. I believe one thing one should do to simplify file names is to use codes. If this cannot be done, then omit some vowels to make it shorter. Also, the use of dates could be an option. This is one of the things we applied during my previous job. Along with applying what I learned, I will also extend my diligence to the task at hand.
